When stock nears its sell-by by date it makes logical sense to sell it quickly by lowering the price. If someone is on a limited budget or wants to lower their food bill this is a good way.
It is not illegal to sell "best before" and some sellers exploit this. Items sold as best before are vacuum packed so eating the contents haven't changed since the day of packing.
"Use by" & "sell by" are a completely different issue and could be dangerous.
It is this stores policy to sell mainly strong dated stock. We offer it to compete with a requested demand.
