The Squadronaires were one of Britain's finest and most celebrated dance bands, formed in 1940 from musicians of the Royal Air Force. Originally known as the RAF Dance Orchestra, they became synonymous with the wartime swing sound that kept spirits high on the home front and beyond — broadcasting regularly on the BBC and performing to packed audiences throughout the 1940s.

This CD collects some of their finest recordings, showcasing the tight, swinging arrangements and polished musicianship that made them a household name. Whether you're a fan of the Big Band era, wartime nostalgia, or simply great British jazz, The Squadronaires deliver with effortless class.

A wonderful piece of British musical heritage — and a perfect companion to collections featuring Glenn Miller, Geraldo, or Ambrose and his Orchestra.
